Terry Allen’s Pond blends Form and Functions

The Allens wanted to accent their property with a pond and enhance wildlife habitat. Otter Creek Engineering helped them achieve their goals with an attractive 4.3 acre pond, permitted through the US Army Corp of Engineers.

Otter Creek’s Engineering’s staff has extensive skills in the planning, design, permitting and construction engineering of many types of stormwater projects. Our experience includes:
  • Watershed evaluations

  • Hydrologic analysis

  • Collection systems

  • Road culverts

  • Treatment systems

The management of stormwater has become an integral component of the site design process. How stormwater is collected, conveyed and treated before it is discharged must be considered early in the design process to allow for the efficient use of valuable development space. Otter Creek Engineering considers the stormwater requirements of a site in preliminary design and incorporates our solution into the final site configuration.

The impact of development on stormwater runoff has become more evident in recent years. Rate, volume, and quality of runoff change with site modifications, requiring designs that mitigate these impacts on downstream properties and waterways.

New design concepts are quickly emerging that are changing the way regulations and design professionals address stormwater management. Otter Creek Engineering is directly involved in the state-of-the-art developments enabling us to provide our clients with effective and costs efficient designs.

Lincoln turns to Otter Creek Engineering to Upgrade Road Culverts

The Town of Lincoln was devastated by flooding in 1998. Otter Creek Engineering worked with the Town and FEMA to upgrade three bridge culverts and one-half mile of roadway. Bridge 32’s attractive cobble headwalls match the original access to US Forest Service Lands.

Neshobe School Drainage and Traffic Improvements

The Neshobe Elementary School had struggled for years with poor drainage, unsafe traffic circulation and inadequate parking. Otter Creek Engineering solution provides safe bus and passenger drop zones and improved drainage. The project also met the School’s parking needs without impacting green space.
